Actual Rate Labor - How to total non-service (product) lines only

We are selling more actual rate labor projects and need to be able to capture the estimate of labor on a quote to sync into ConnectWise opps, but not print on the quote or show in QuoteValet.

I've figured out how to update the print layout so that it doesn't show, but don't know how to make the QV template calculate based on product lines (item type) vs subtotal which does include the estimated labor line.

I can't exclude the labor line as then it won't sync to the CW opportunity, where we pull forecasting.

I don't see a field to swap in document headers that totals product, only the subtotal one that exists in our QV template now.

Any thoughts on this? Or how do others handle forecasting and actual rate labor projects?

If you have QuoteWerks Corporate edition, then you could use scripting to total the amount on the Labor and/or Product Line Items into a Document Header field, then use that field on the QuoteValet HTML Template.

Or perhaps use a Summary Line Item on the Quote?

Thanks Steve! I suspect we do and we already have custom html for our layouts (done prior to taking over managing this) so I'll see if I can find someone in our company that can help me with the things you said.

Steve - you are awesome! After some playing around with scripting (and texting with copilot) I was able to get this to write to a field that I could use on the QV html template and get updates made that were needed.  I made it work on my own, thanks to your reply!

Glad I could help!
