Safe to delete inactive users?

What happens to a users quotes after they are removed from the system?

Were looking to do some cleanup but dont want to cause issues.

Best Answer

I'd leave them as inactive, personally.

That said,

The quotes are still available, and still searchable, say by DocumentNumber.

It will complain that 'UserA' is no longer in the system on opening the document.

The amount of data they take in the database is negligible.

Some of my clients insist on deleting. Fine.

In this case, I tend to recommend they have an 'ArchiveUser' and all the deleted users quotes are moved to this 'ArchiveUser'. Some choose to, some don't.

I've seen sporadic issues with a handful of (large) clients with QuoteValet when users have been deleted.

@Matt Thank you for the quick response. I think you have a great way of handling it.

There's also the option to reassign a Sales Rep's documents, which is made very straightforward with the Medic Utility Data Manager...
