I see there is a field labeled 'Discontinued' in the parts databases.

I am not seeing where this field is used in the item information.

Is this something not implemented or am I missing something?

Just asking because I am doing some mass edits of items that we no longer offer and noticed that this field exists in the database.

QuoteWerks has a number of fields in the database not available to the user.

Typically, these are fields that have a planned use / had a planned use / are no longer used.

I'm not aware of Discontinued ever have been user accessible.
