I would like the ability to simply type the retail price my customer sees and have it adjust the margin for that item. There are times I want the customer to see a specific number but I have to keep guessing some weird margin number to get close. 

I also would like to be able to go to the margin at the top of the quote and type whatever number in there I like and it adjust the entire quote. 

You can type the customer price manually.

You can then see the margin in the Totals for all Items section, alternatively, it could be scripted to populated the margin into a custom field.

Select all items, right-click -> Adjust Price Modifier, that'll then set the margin for all items.
