Hi all

We have a new office based in another country. The staff there are finding that QW isn't calculating their VAT for them, though their accounts are copies of existing ones. 

Does QW take some settings from Windows when it comes to VAT/Tax? Is there a reason why their accounts might be the same as other peoples but where they woudn't get VAT/Tax calculated automatically?

When a User creates a new document, QuoteWerks takes the Taxable settings from the Tools menu -> Options option -> Options screen -> Documents tab and Document Items tab respectively.

Have you checked that the User(s) have a Tax Rate set on the QuoteWerks Document Sales Info tab? And that Line Items have the Taxable field as "Y"?

The only other solution ot having the users change the tax rate, ie, Steve's approach above, is to create separate remote site for the other location, and set it up with the appropriate regional settings. 

Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages, so it depends on your business situation which approach would work best.

Oddly here, the Options > Documents setting for those remote users was showing 0% despite the same field showing 20% for the non-remote users. Same database though. 

Also John I couldn't see how to create a new region. The region tab has few editable field and certainly no "New Region". I also couldn't see a way to assign users to regions. Any ideas?
